This — the fifth Masters store in NSW, in Forrester Road — was due to open early next year, but building is ahead of schedule and it could open earlier.

“We are really pleased with the way it is progressing, and our next task is to start work on the car park and landscaping,” a Masters spokeswoman said.

“We hope we will be able to open before Christmas, which means we will be able to provide customers with more choice and value just in time for summer.”

Construction began in February just weeks after Masters signed off on an agreement with St Marys Rugby League Club for almost eight acres of land next to St Marys Leagues Stadium.

The Star has been following the story since the development application first went to Penrith Council two years ago.

Approval was granted last year.

The new store will employ 100 new staff, and a store manager has already been appointed.

The spokeswoman said: “Our recruitment program is well under way, and we have some great opportunities for full-time, part-time and casual roles.

“We have a hiring office within the St Marys Leagues Club for anyone wanting more information or who is interested in applying for a role.”

Masters stores stock 35,000 product ranges, including barbecues, outdoor furniture, flooring, kitchens, bathrooms, paint, trade and tools for tradies and keen DIYers.
