Man charged for hammer assault

A man has been charged with assaulting another man with a hammer at Blacktown.

About 2.15pm last Wednesday, an 18-year-old man became involved in a struggle with another man near Fourth Avenue.

A 23-year-old Seven Hills man was injured with a hammer, resulting in serious head wounds.

He was taken to Westmead Hospital for treatment. He remains in a stable condition.

An 18-year-old man was charged with cause grievous bodily harm to person with intent and aggravated break and enter.

A man was treated in hospital after he was attacked in Lalor Park last Tuesday.

Police said three men approached another man near Freeman Street and demanded money and property about 7.15pm.

The victim, 41, was kicked and punched before he lost consciousness when he refused.

The three alleged offenders reportedly stole cash, a mobile phone and some personal property from the victim, who was later taken to Blacktown Hospital suffering facial injuries.

The men are described as being of Pacific Islander appearance.
