Help for needy
Mount Druitt businessman Ammar Khan plans to launch the Ammar Khan Foundation to provide services to those facing difficulties with employment, education, business, housing, welfare and immigration.
“I will stand up for the battler, I will support the hard worker,” Mr Khan said.
“I am passionate about extending a helping hand to anyone facing difficulties or crises of any sort.”
He will continue working on proposed major projects through his property development company, Urban Estate Developments, including the new Sydney’s Wonderland theme park and major upgrades to local stations and Mount Druitt Hospital.
Legal aid dinner
Toongabbie Legal Centre (TLC) will hold its sixth annual fundraising dinner on October 12 at Bowman Hall, Blacktown, from 7.15pm.
NSW Supreme Court Chief Justice Tom Bathurst will be a special guest at the dinner.
NSW Court of Appeal president and TLC patron Justice Margaret Beazley will preside over the formalities while ABC Radio National breakfast presenter James Carleton will be the MC.
“The legal centre’s annual dinner is designed to engage with community organisations, elected representatives from various levels of government, judicial officers, policy makers, public servants, members of the legal profession and TLC supporters,” honorary director and acting principal solicitor Susai Benjamin said.
